Yesterday, as we always do, we had ADVENTURE TIME. I was in Portsmouth for the weekend, so everything will me Maine/New Hampshire, here.
First, we went to Ogunquit, ME. We found a beach we’ve been to before.
It was pretty windy and cold up there, but not horrible enough to keep us away from the water.
Crossing the wooden foot-bridge. We saw a fucking LOON in the water here upon our leaving, but sadly, he was far too elusive for my camera. I saw him a ways down the channel. Chris was all “Hey, a loon.” and I am like “FUCK NO THATS A DIVING DUCK.” Upon closer inspection, it was a fucking textbook loon. He was SO CLOSE TO US and by the time I got the camera from the backseat, he was underwater, literally FLYING yards and yards away. We could not get a good shot of that fucking bird, but it was my first time seeing a loon, somehow. I can’t believe I had never seen a loon before that, and Chris was doubly shocked.

The shoreline. Typical shot ha ha

Here we go, taking pictures of ourselves. A nice young couple offered to take a picture of us, and we accepted. I just hate how it came out so SORRY YOU CANT SEE.

HE DID FOUND ROCK. (o no)
HE DID THROW ROCK.
Take that, Atlantic. (I love this look. It’s so typical of him. So CHALLENGE)
We would have spent more time on the shore had Chris not needed to be at work at 4. So I dropped him off and headed for the WOODS.
Classically, I go to the Kanc. A 1.5 hours ride through ASSHOLEVILLE on 16. Speed limit 55MPH at the max on that road. Ugh.
About 2/3 of the wat there, you can see the white mountains ahead. I should mention that just to the left of the telephone pole there, you can see the top of snow-covered Mt. Washington. Thats a pretty clear day. Wow. Mt. Washington is, like, 30 miles from here, AT LEAST.
I went straight for the swimming hole, since there was NO SNOW this time! What you see here is the huge mountain face that hovers above the swimming hole.

A north-westernly shot of the hole.

This place is GREAT in the summer. The water is really cold and the sun is nice and warm on the rocks. The rocks are so smooth that you can slip INSANELY easily, even with sneakers on.

The falls where you can USUALLY climb into. The spring waters are high this year, so this is a little…over the top to go into ha ha ha

Ah, sunshine.

Heading up.

A shot from the top. I should mention that about a month ago, this was completely covered in snow. I think I have a picture from this very place where you couldn’t see SHIT.

On the western face.

Sunset over these mountains is so beautiful. Pictures do it no justice. But it was REALLY cold and windy (I’d say about 25 or so) and I was OUT.

See you in a month, mountains!
